| Austin Modders take top honors in ''Speak Visual'' contest |
| | nVidia and Make teamed up recently to host the "Speak Visual" contest in support of computer modding as well as graphics. I was honored to find out that I won first prize in the contest and absolutely thrilled when I found out that five other Austin Modders also placed in the competition. I would like to say congrats to all! I would also like to extend a congrats to our buddy Tazz over at ModdersInc for his placement in the contest. Keep up the good work yall! http://blog.makezine.com/modificationstation/ |

| | I know this is a bit late, but I wanted to let everyone know that the Austin Modders had a great time running the LAN at Ikkicon this year. I would like to thank Ikkicon for having us again this year and thank all the people who made their way over to the game room and played a few rounds with us. I think it went extremely well with only a couple hiccups. Hopefully we will see yall again next year. We are currently in talks about running a couple of other LANS this year as well. There are no commitments yet, but stay tuned! Click on the "Read More" button below for a full writeup. |

| News: QuakeCon 2008 recap |
Austin Modders QC 2008 was a huge success. Members Lancer, Zittware and Thrill house walked away with 3 of the 6 top spots in the modding competition. 486Hawk won $1000 in the Quickdraw challange and once again Mickey21 walks away with some sweet hardware winning a 4870 during a PC build off Contest. That's a nice haul for the group. Read more in our forums to find out the details and see the photos

| | I would like to take a moment to congratulate a couple of our Austin Modders members on an job well done over at the Mod Shop where they have been battling it out the last few months to win the top Mod of the month spot. In April Tech-Daddy won one of these monthly tournaments with his excellent work on DSF. What better way to follow up the next month than with Sheldog23 bringing home the gold with his Liquid Metal mod. Congratulations guys and keep up the great work. I wish all members best of luck with the start of a new round this month. To see and vote on the battles going on this month, go check out The Mod Shop here: http:modshop.net |

| | Registration for QuakeCon 2008 went live last Wednesday. With over 3000 registrations so for, the event is alive as ever. Many of the Austin Modders got registered within the first hour, so now it is time for us to start preparing our mods for the show (or in some cases begin building them!). Check out the following link for the latest updates on the event: http://www.quakecon.org/ |
