| Q4 is the main 1v1 tournament now. I'm interested on what prizes would be. It would be awesome if it would merit a drive from OKC. |

At this time; we do not anticipate having an official Quake4 tourney. If we had someone V'tr to host a Q4 tourney out of the BYOC... we'd be open to that discussion.
I can say; that since this is a Charity Lan event; all proceeds will benifit the Austin Area United Way. As such; there will be no cash-based prizes for any tourney. Prizes will be announced at a later date; but expect them to be provided by our sponsors.
The primary goal of this event is to have fun playing some games.
Secondary goal is to raise money for the United Way.
We'd love to have you drive down from OKC... Always looking to Frag (I mean - meet) new people. _________________ Worklog: ATTN2Detail

I like COD2, NFSMW (gotta get a racing game) ET or UT2k4. After the last lan it seems CS make pretty well butt headish gamers. _________________ "If it ain't modded, what's the point?"

Official Tourney list
http://infernaledge.com/austin/
was updated this morning to read:
Battlefield 2 - Seeking Coordinator
Counterstrike: Source - Seeking Coordinator
Company of Heros
FPS - FEAR Combat 4vs4
Modding Contest
Rules on tourneys will be posted as Coordinators get engauged.
We expect at least one more "retro" FPS game to be added.
Zap, are you running the Fear Tourney? If not; we need to "seek" a coordinator. _________________ Worklog: ATTN2Detail

Oh, if there was any tourney I would play in it would be FEAR. (am I eligable?) I don't think I am experienced enough with serving to run a tourney. _________________ www.ZapWizard.com |

Yes. Everyone can compete in a tourney... regardless of staff or not.
I don't think there are any ethics competing in a non-judgement based contest if your are a judge.
Anyone care to argue the cons of doing this?
If we can't find someone else; would you be willing "give it a shot" running the tourney? _________________ Worklog: ATTN2Detail

How about QuakeWorld? Its really come along way in terms of graphics and functunality. It's extremely easy to setup, servers are cinche and you can host like 10 servers off modern hardware without even taking up 1/2 the resources! Also, who wouldn't want to participate in a old school QuakeWorld tourney? I'm most likely going to attend so I can help anyone who needs it. Setting up the servers can be done in literally minutes. Also, 10 min matches per map are the norm nowadays so the tournament shouldn't take long at all. I'm not sure if you guys have selected a 1v1 tourney yet, if you haven't and are looking to pick one - QW is an awesome choice. As far as tournament rules and settings are concerned, I've been a member of the QW community for a long, long time and am quite familiar with tournament rules/settings so I could be of some help in that department too.

That's the site for the main client used nowadays. |

Right now I'd say a "tenative yes"...
However, since the event is more about having fun that running expensive cash-pursed tourneys - I'm open to allowing tourney owners the ability to play / compete... as long as they don't cheat.
Let me talk with the other staff to see how we'll handle this and I'll give you an offical answer soon. _________________ Worklog: ATTN2Detail

Sup fools, any word on what maps for CoH and Fear and what the game rules will be?
IE, each team playing a game of nazis and allies then say a coin toss if there's a tie for which side to pick.
Also anyone looking to put together a Fear team? I'm badass at Fear Team Deathmatch. Looking forward to. |

For CoH I think either 4 vs 4 map should be good but and each team should get one chance at a different allies or axis rather than doing a different map.
For FEAR, I think Docks and Office are two great smaller maps for 4v4, one being indoors and dark and dock being outside primarily and very bright.
If anyone wants to DM some fear just aim me jeffedwardtom. |
